French Wire / Dabka

Dabka also Known as Dubka or Dapka, is a light-weight fine coiled copper wire, which originated in India. Internationally it is known as French Wire. It is very delicate and flexible. Dapka is popularly used in embellishment and surface ornamentation of traditional and couture wear by Zardozi Embroidery. The most common use of it is in beading and pearl knotting while making jewelry. They are highly consistent in color and finish.

Red, Black, Blue, Pink, Silver and Gold French Wire are most popularly used. We offer French wire in different diameters from 1mm to 4mm.

Goldwork embroidery is done with these metallic purl wires. Also called Cannetile wires. Purl wires have smooth surface in rough and bright finishes. Tambour and Luneville embroidery technique are used with these goldwork wires to do beaten work and stump 3d embroidery.

In jewellery making, these hollow purl wires are used to hide the base thread and to give better finish around the clasp or beads on necklaces
