Various Types of Pony Needles

When it comes to embroidery, needles hold large importance. There are various types of needles that are used for various purposes. In this blog, we are going to learn about various types of pony needles that you can find online.

1) Sharps/Milliner:

These the thinnest needle among all the sewing needles. Their long shaft and small round eye make them the perfect needle for doing French knot, drizzle stitch, and bullion stitch. These come in various sizes ranging from size 1 to 12. Size 1 is the largest and size 12 the smallest.

2) Crewel Needle:

These are just like sharps but the only difference comes in the size of the eye. These needles have an oval-shaped eye which makes it easy to thread them. They come in various sizes ranging from size 1 to 12. Size 1 is the largest and size 12 the smallest.

They are perfect for embellishing fabric with beads, sequins, French wire, rhinestones, etc. Size 4 and 5 needles are perfect for doing embroidery with stranded cotton thread like anchor embroidery floss.
