1) Needle:
Well, we all know when it comes to embroidery, needles are the most important tool. There are various needles which are used for hand embroidery and they are milliners, crewels, aari, chenille, tapestry and more.
2) Fabric:
If you are a beginner then buy a plain fabric first and practice various stitches on it. When you get the hang of it, you can try making various patterns and designs on dresses, bags etc.
2) Embroidery Hoop or Frame:
Other most important tool is embroidery hoop. They come in various sizes and you can choose the size and shape you like. The best thing is you get so many shapes like round, rectangle, square, and triangle to choose from.
3) Thread:
There are various threads that you could use for doing embroidery on fabric. However, when you are new you can always try getting the hand on other threads.
4) Cutter or Scissors:
While doing embroidery, it is important to have a cutter for making quick and fast snips. Here also you get an option to choose the among cutter and embroidery scissors. You can choose whichever you are most comfortable with.
5) Tracing Paper with Pinned designs:
If there is a design that you would like to make on your fabric then for that you will need tracing paper where you can trace it. For transferring the design you will need to pin the design with pinning machine. With the help of washable colored liquid, you can easily trace the design.
However, if you already have pinned designs then you won’t need these tools.
6) Embellishment:
There are various supplies like sequins, beads, french wire, stones that you will need as you progress.
