How to use French Wire for making Necklace, Earrings and other Jewellery items

In this article, I will guide you step by step on how to use French Wire for protecting the jewelry thread and giving professional look to your jewelry item.

Materials you may need:

    1. Jewellery thread (Any strong and thin thread)
    2. Needle (Pony no. 10 or any thin needle)
    3. Pearls and Beads of your choice
    4. French Wire
    5. Pendant (I am using MOP pendant)

    Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Cut the jewelry thread as per the desired length and pass it through the eye of the needle.

Step 2: Cut 2.5cm length of French Wire.

Step 3: After that, pass the needle through a bead and the cut section of French wire. Once it’s done, then pass the French Wire through the pendant ring.

Step 4: Now, carefully pass the necklace thread back through the bead with the help of the needle.

Step 5: Pull the thread tightly so that French wire forms a loop.

Step 6: Add more beads and pearls in the string.

Step 7: Add more beads from both the sides.

Voila! You have a beautiful necklace to pair with your attire.

French wire not only protects the thread from wearing but it also covers the thread completely and gives the jewelry piece a professional look.

In the next tutorial, I will teach you how to use French wire at the clasp while making jewelry.
